Why Try Blogging Now?

Well, there it is.  The big question.

There are so many blogs out there right now... Most have big dreams to pull in some major mula and only some actually do.  But those are loud blogs, right?  Those that say "It's so easy!  You can make six figures, too!"

I mean, who doesn't want to be able to sit at home in their PJ's, flipping through Netflix, all while blogging about life hacks and budgeting tools?  It does sound amazing, doesn't it?

I've done some research.  It can be done, but it seems to take a while to get the mojo flowing.  You need to have tons of traffic, interesting content, and a good bit of creativity.  After a time of establishment, you can add on AdSense or something similar so that you can pull in a tiny percentage of whatever the company makes when your readers click the ads on your blog.  It also helps to get sponsors, marketing affiliates, and participate in giveaways!

Basically, it's a lot of work upfront.  Not impossible, but a lot of time and effort on something that may not get off the ground.

Don't get me wrong, I'm always up for a challenge.  Why not try, right?  I'm home from work for a few days because my oldest has a virus, so I have the time (kind of).

I also like entertaining the thought that I can do something passively to pull in money to help our family pay down debt.  My husband and I are both teachers, so you can imagine that our annual pay isn't all that much.  Again, why not try?

So that's my plan.  I'm going to try a blog.  A blog about my mommy wins and losses, learning the best ways to make my house a home, my teaching experiences, and ideas for lesson plans and activities.

Stick with me and you won't be sorry!
